Pop-up Junk Journal Workshop

The Notebook folds.
The rest unfolds.

In these workshops, participants will learn to make pop-up collage books using found materials — scraps of paper, movie tickets, printed waste, whatever they carry with them.

Each session introduces a new structure. In three hours, participants will complete a fully realised piece — built entirely from what they bring and what they find — though materials are always provided for those who arrive empty-handed.

But what tends to happen is something else: the choices people make — what they cut, what they keep, what they fold away and what they let show — end up saying more than they intended.

I find that people reveal themselves most honestly when their hands are busy.

Upcoming Workshops

  • Translate Your Scent

    20 June 10:00-13:00
    la Boutique Pineider, Milan

Bring a scent that means something to you. Build an accordion book that holds both the image and the smell — so that when the pages open, the book fans the air.

No two books will smell, or look, the same.

  • Memory Palace

    17 October 10:00-13:00
    la Boutique Pineider, Milan

The ancient art of memory imagined a building — a palace where each room held something worth keeping.

In this workshop, participants will build their own: a standing facade with two curved colonnades, an architecture in paper that opens into a space for what they don't want to forget.

  • Door to Somewhere

    Time to be defined

Everyone has a place they want to go back to — or a place that doesn't exist yet.

In this workshop, participants will build a door that opens. What's behind it is entirely up to them.
